Incarceration Life

The cold, gray walls enclose you. Time stretches. Each day resembles the last: a monotonous cycle punctuated by grub and patrols. Communication with the outside reality is severely curtailed. Despair becomes your constant accomplice. You scramble for meaning in this isolated existence.

Conviction Versus Consequence

A symphony of sounds plays on the other side, yet they/she/he are left behind/cut off/separated, a solitary figure/soul/being in a sea of soundless space/unheard pleas/mute desperation. The only company they have is the echoes/ghostly whispers/silent screams of their own thoughts/memories/yearnings.

These Walls Have Ears

If one think a wall can hide secrets, consider again. Walls, including all other items, are sometimes of listening. Old stories warn people that walls have ears, and though this may seem similar to a tale, the reality is surprising.

Innocence Lost's Burden
